Youth curling is back for the fall!
Rock Creek Curling offers developmental curling classes for youth age 7-17. Classes are designed to build skill and confidence on ice while learning the basics of the game and focusing on fun.
Junior curlers in grades 1-5 meet at 10 am and begin with an emphasis on gaining stability and balance on the ice using drills and games. Returning curlers will build off of previous experience to continue their growth and knowledge of the game.
Middle school and high school curlers grades 6-12 meet at 11:30am. New curlers will also begin with an emphasis on balance and stability, while experienced curlers will progress through more advanced drills and practice, then transition into full-sheet curling games involving strategy and team play. Rental shoes and brooms are included in the course fee. All fall youth courses are $150.
Fall Junior Course Dates:
- Saturday October 1 – November 12, 2022
- Note: No class on October 15
NEW THIS SEASON – Junior Curler Gameplay
For our experienced youth curlers interested in playing more games, learning
strategy, and understanding the roles and dynamics of a curling team, these six
weekly sessions can be added to supplement their Saturday classes.
Each week, the curlers will work with a Rock Creek Curling coach and
instructor to form teams, set goals, and play games while discussing strategy,
tactics, and position-specific skills.
This option is recommended for curlers who are interested in eventually
curling at recreational league or competitive levels.
Wednesdays October 5 – November 16 (6:00 – 8:00 pm) $150 per person.
Includes six 2-hour instructor-led games, guidance, feedback, and encouragement from our USA Curling-certified instructors. Use of curling shoes, brooms, and balance devices also included.
